A Jungle Gypsy Paradise Retreat in Ubud, Bali

We were met with warm smiles and a cool breeze upon arriving to our first stop in Ubud, Omah Apik. Their staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. We dropped our bags in the main area and were given a quick tour of the grounds. Just wow. You're surrounded by lush vegetation and the property overlooks a sprawling rice terrace. You can't escape the tranquil sounds of running water (you don't want to) and there are cozy little nooks and sitting areas scattered across the grounds for guests to soak in the peaceful surroundings.

The dining area is next to a magnificent circular koi pond brimming with colorful fish. And you'll want to spend a good amount of time there because the food is fantastic. Authentic balinese and incredibly fresh. I'd highly recommend the Mie Goering and Carley loved the Gado Gado with peanut sauce (made from peanuts grown at Omah Apik). But the real game changer was the pineapple jam for breakfast. They grow the pineapples out back and the jam they make from them is heavenly.

Omah Apik is locared just 10-15 minutes from Ubud Center and you can easily arrange a driver to take you to the many sights to see in Ubud. Our 3 favorites were the Monkey Forest, Holy Water Temple, and Goa Goja (Elephant Cave Temple).

And if you don't feel like leaving, you can always enjoy a fresh fruit smoothie or ice cold Bintang beer from the cabana overlooking the inviting infinite pool. The "serve yourself" bar tab is just another way they make you feel right at home at Omah Apik.

The rooms are large and comfortable. Ours had a huge tub which felt great after a long day trekking around Ubud. We found Omah Apik to be a very real, unique and special place to stay for people traveling to Ubud. Offering a laid back boutique hotel vibe with just the right amount of amenities to make it feel like home.
