3 of the Best Ways to Get Into the Holiday Spirit in NYC

I love visiting New York City, but there is something extra magical about the city during the holidays. The snow, the lights, the cheer. I love it all. Here are 3 of my favorite ways to get into the the holiday spirit in NYC.

#1 - Go for a snowy walk in Central Park with your special someone

Central park is already a magical escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. When you add a little fresh snow, it transforms into a winter wonderland in the heart of the city. Especially if you're lucky enough to catch it on a day that is snowing. You can walk around the park, enjoy the city sights from a new perspective and maybe even catch some live Christmas carols in the Bethesda Terrace. Bring your special someone to help keep you warm.

#2 - Go ice skating at Rockefeller Center and marvel at the beautiful Christmas tree

Rockefeller is sure to be busy during the holidays, but don't let that hold you back from enjoying a little ice skating under one of the most magnificent Christmas trees in the world. The 74-foot Norway spruce is a beautifully lit backdrop for you to skate around in the ice rink below. This is a staple and it's close to the Union Square Holiday Market where you can do some last minute Christmas shopping.

#3 - Browse the Christmas window displays on your way to the Union Square Holiday Market

A friend had told me about the window displays, but I had no idea what I was in for. Each display is magnificently decorated and artfully displayed. From the interactive displays from Disney to the dreamy displays of fashion brand icons, this certainly won't disappoint. I recommend grabbing a hot cocoa before hand, slowly stroll down 5th ave, and make your way to Union Square Holiday Market where you can finish up with last minute Christmas shopping! You'll find unique and worldly gifts for everyone on your list.

I did this post in partnership with Uber. You could use the subway to get around, but I always prefer taking an uberX. It's super convenient. Always gets me where I need to go around the city. And gives me more time to take in all the sites. If you're looking for any last minute gifts to pick up for your friends and family, Uber offers gift cards which you can purchase here: https://www.uber.com/gift-cards/ and see their gift card store locator here.

Happy Holidays Everyone!
